Travelling through computer history


El grupo bilingüe 1º A de Administración de Sistemas Informáticos en Red está participando en el Proyecto e-Twinning "Travelling through computer history" en colaboración con la profesora Judit Gyulavári y su alumnado del BMSZC Neumann János Számítástechnikai Szakgimnáziuma de Budapest, Hungría.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PROYECTO

Students from different countries will work together in order to create web pages, posters, short documentary videos and easy games about the evolution of a variety of topics related to computers.

AIMS

With this project we try to achieve these aims:
- To enhance their knowledge about ICT evolution.
- To improve their social competence.
- To use several technologies to find, share and process information.
- To improve their English linguistic skills.

WORK PROCESS

In this project, the students will work in mixed teams to:
- Do a research on the evolution of one topic related to computers, such as hardware, operating systems, networks, languages and software.
- Create websites to show the information, using HTML5 and CSS3. (January and February)
- Record a short documentary video about one of those aspects. (March)
- Create posters to summarize the information, using applications like Canva. (March)
- Create on line games about their topics using tools like Kahoot, Genially, etc. (April)
- Show their works in the Cultural Week of the school and, if possible, outside it. (April and May)

The members of the project will communicate each other, mainly, by Twinspace, e-mail or Skype and they will share their documents and resources through the cloud.

In order to work in teams efficiently when the tasks are complex, the students will use an agile methodology like Scrum.

EXPECTED RESULTS

As a result, our pupils:
- Will have learnt about Computer Science evolution.
- Will have read, written, listened and spoken English for professional purposes.
- Will have learnt and used several technologies and applications to find, process and share information.
- Will have developed their personal competence, like responsibility, self-confidence, punctuality, initiative, self-control, persistence, creativity, etc.
- Will have developed their social competence to work in teams by training skills like collaboration, flexibility, leadership, negotiation, etc.
